TABC supports a number of local efforts to meet the needs of people in our community. We are grateful to be able to partner with others that do great work along the values of Jesus Christ. Some of these efforts are faith-based, some are not. Here's a peek:
East Bay Habitat for Humanity: We are a sponsoring church for this effort to defeat homelessness. We regularly work on their sites. Check out their website. _____________________________________________ Centerville Free Dinner Program We financially support this effort run by several groups from various churches to meet some of the hunger needs in our community. We cheer Centerville Presbyterian Church for providing space and kitchen facilities for this twice a week effort. _____________________________________________ S.A.V.E. We have supported this effort to combat domestic violence for many years. We recently had a drive to provide cell phones for emergency use for SAVE's clients. In this tough economic time, this brave and wise community service will be even more important. Their services include a 24 hr crisis line. _____________________________________________ Compassion Network We are both a support church and an active team within the Compassion Network services to our community. This excellent partnership between churches and city services offers help to our community such as emergency housing connections, helping the infirmed and aged with mandatory yard clean up , tutoring and language help. If you would like to get on our team, contact our coordinator Pam Breen and tell her of your interest. _____________________________________________ Growing Healthy Churches Since TABC was started by the prayer and financial support of existing churches, it is a priority for us to help other churches start. We are members of and supporters of GHC in their excellent effort to help churches start and be effective witnesses to Christ. In addition, we are supporting CTC-Fremont, a Telugu language church that meets in our facilities. _____________________________________________ Tri-City Homeless Coalition The Tri-City Homeless Coalition is also on our list of local efforts to support. Mostly we do this in a regular financial contribution but some TABC'ers have a special heart for this work and contribute in other personal ways as well. _____________________________________________ Family to Family and Alcoholics Anonymous See details of these on our Community Services page.
In addition to these specific efforts, TABC is regularly involved in other community service activities. If you have comments or questions you would like to make about any of these community efforts, please contact Pastor Bruce Stryd.
International Missionaries:
We support the work of Rick and Mercy Barnes. They serve in Baja, Mexico with a primary purpose starting churches and training pastors.
